What I collect, and when

When you use the booking form, I collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, nearest town, the make and model of your vehicle, its size, the service and option you're interested in, anything you tell me about the vehicle's condition, and your preferred and alternative dates.

When you call, text, WhatsApp or email me, I have whatever you choose to tell me, plus your phone number or email address.

I don't collect anything else. There is no account to create, no newsletter, and no profiling.

Why I need it, and my lawful basis

I use your details for one purpose: to reply to your enquiry, give you an accurate price, agree a date, and carry out the work.

The lawful basis is your consent when you tick the box on the booking form, and performance of a contract once you've booked. Where I keep records of completed jobs, that's a legal obligation — a limited company has to keep business records.

I will never sell your information, share it for marketing, or send you anything you didn't ask for.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and nothing that follows you between sites. That's why you won't see a cookie banner here — there's nothing to consent to.

Two parts of the site load content from elsewhere, and it's fair that you know:

The videos on the gallery page don't load anything from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy. The still preview images are served by Google before you click.

The map on the contact page is embedded from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when the page loads.

Where your information is kept

The website is hosted by Netlify, and booking enquiries are received through Netlify Forms. Your submission is stored securely in my Netlify account and emailed to me. Netlify acts as a data processor on my behalf — see the Netlify privacy policy.

Email is handled through Apple iCloud Mail. Netlify's servers may be located outside the UK; where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards in Netlify's own data processing terms.

The site is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through the booking form is encrypted in transit.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don't turn into a booking are kept for 12 months and then deleted.

Records of completed work are kept for 6 years, because a limited company has to keep its business and accounting records for that long.

If you'd like your details removed sooner, just ask and I'll do it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:

See a copy of the information I hold about you
Correct anything that's wrong
Delete your information
Restrict or object to how I use it
Withdraw your consent at any time, which won't affect anything done before you withdrew it

Ask me by email or phone and I'll deal with it within one month, free of charge.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I'd rather you told me first so I can put it right.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. This is the only version — there's no archive, because the site is new.
